Premier compares her comments to Obama's

Premier Christy Clark is comparing her comments yesterday about a "sick culture in Victoria" to those of U-S President Barack Obama.

"How often have you heard President Obama refer to "those folks in Washington"?  Do any of us think that he's talking about the unemployed workers or the people that area sleeping on street corners in cardboard boxes?  No, we know he's talking about the politicians and the pundits and I meant this in exactly the same way."

Clark tells Al Ferraby of CFAX radio in Victoria her comments were taken out of context by a reporter for the National Post.

Clark was slammed by some after making the "sickness" comments, who said if a culture change is needed in the Legislature, as Premier, she should be leading the way to change.

Well, Ms Clark has something in common with President Zero. He has no idea what he is doing and is in over his head. She has no idea what she is doing and is in over her head. Perhaps they will both be unemployed in 2013.

@Jartann The comment was a poltical phopa - likely made to a reporter she trusted. Let's move onto the real issues. clearly she referred \to the stress of governing. and did not intend to slight the population of Victoria.

I question the integrity of the reporter who obviously screwed the conversation. I thought reporters had more integrity than that. . Hope the rest of our media has more intellect

@Jartann The BC Liberals should be sitting in the House and WORKING. NOT campaigning on a road trip, at our expense. Premier Photo-op strikes again. If the MLA's aren't working in the Legislature, I want a serious cut in their pay.

JARTANN: Okay. Now supply us with some examples to back up your statement.

JIM VAN RASSEL: Robbins is a propaganda poll always catering to the NDP. In the next election Liberal strongholds will be won by the Liberals and NDP strongholds will be won by the NDP. The Conservatives will not win one seat including John Cummins if he is still around after Saturday, and John VanDognen. Who ever wins the election will only have at the most a 10 seat majority over the other. You failed to mention that the NDP in Nova Scotia are going back to official opposition after only being a one term government.

This actually appeared in the media back in May and id only a reprint because the legislature is not sitting this fall and they were comparing all of the provinces and the number of days they sit per year.

She is making the comment and escaping Victoria to listen to the people. That sounds great but where is her leadership and example of how to clean up the sick culture in Victoria. She should show her fellow MLa's as well as us the voting public how she wants politicians to behave these days. You cannot change the culture by running away from it.

I think they should be sitting this fall considering the revenues are down and they need to implement spending cuts. This could be a great time for her to show her leadership skills as well as the differences between the parties.

Get back to work in Victoria Christy. How many times do you need to travel the province, You said the same thing back in May and back when you won the leadership race. Show us your vision for BC. Where do you want to take this province?

Act like a premier and govern. . .

Context does make a difference. Got that reporters?

No question this is a political error, but she has to understand that anyone in her position who would make a statement like this is going to get roasted. Reporters in general do not have the brains to put things in context or to try to understand the point she was really making. But she is in over her head-she has never run or managed anything aside from her own career. This puts her in over her head from day one-and this has become obvious. Adrian Dix has all the personality of an accounts payable clerk, has no meaningful experience, and will screw up just as badly. But in the process he will destroy our economy.

As for President Zero-his failure is so obvious that anyone who has to question whether or not this is so is just out of touch with reality. He is being cut slack for one reason only, and we all know what that is. A white guy with so little experience would have been laughed out of the 2008 presidential race. He is a scary person because he hates business, hates success earned through business and intended to leave the USA a poorer place than when he found it.

She compares herself to a popular president, yet sounds more like Romney and his "47%."
We should've known what BC was in for when she came close to losing a sure seat to an idiot.

It's apparent that she does not know how to do her job. I suspect she thought it would be easy.

I can't understand why she would want to compare herself to a socialist dictator.

This is just distraction, at its best. The BC Liberals should be sitting in the House and WORKING. NOT campaigning on a road trip, at our expense. Premier Photo-op strikes again. If the MLA's aren't working in the Legislature, I want a serious cut in their pay.

BORNINAPIRATESHIP: You did not explain why it was okay for the NDP party to only sit for 11 days in the legislative during one of their years when they were government. Please compare apples to apples.
