It will be at least 2013 before a judge makes his decision whether or not to release more information surrounding the 6-million dollar pay-out of Dave Basi and Bobby Virk.

The two pleaded guilty in connection to the sale of BC Rail -- with taxpayers picking up their legal costs.

Auditor General John Doyle is seeking access to documents covered by lawyer-client privilege, which would better explain why that decision was made.

MLA John van Dongen is an intervenor in the bid.

"The auditor general and his staff certainly seem very active on the file," says van Dongen.  "They are, I believe, prepared for any eventuality in terms of whenever the decision comes out."

Lawyers will make their final submissions in early December.

The BC lie berals will do everything possible to release as little info as possible, because they know they are guilty of Bribeing the the basi verk jerks. The lie berals know there is a election around the corner. It is best for all BC taxpayers to place the few Lie berals on the wooden seats on the back benches.

The chubby one and her merry band of pick pockets could make this all go away.
Just release all the information regarding BC Rail and show us that they are clean as the white, soon to be polluted ,driven snow in the mountains. Shouldn't be hard for completely innocent liebrals or are they hoping to stall for more time until they are insulated from this scandal?

BCTAXPAYER: No different than finding out more about the Fast Cat ferry blunder. A lot of NDP friends received taxpayer dollars for BS jobs during this project. Gordon Campbell was going to do a full review on this project, but instead decided it was a waste of taxpayer dollars.

@joes_2868 The Fast Cat Ferry blunder did not involve breaches of fiduciary duty by cabinet members. The NDP of the day were punished at the polls and had their turn in the penalty box. It's now time for the Liberals to sit out a term in the penalty box

@joes_2868 Much different than the FastCat fiasco. That was a mistake, not a concerted effort to hide the truth, because it implicates yourself and your government (in an act of traitorous deception and collusion). The sale of BC Rail was rife with criminal activity, and the only reason we don’t have the truth yet, is because the BC Liberals have done their absolute best (worst) to keep it secret and safe. After the election, there will be an inquiry and some BC Liberals will go to jail for their actions. You heard it here first.

Liberals should be defeated at the polls just for this single mess and many sent to jail for 15 years min.

Basi/Virk have waived solicitor - client privilege. Whose privilege are the Liberals protecting? What do they not want made public?

Painfully Pathetic. No logic or professional behaviour left in this province. Starting to be run like a dictatorship, where those in power can't be questioned and held accountable! Sad!

GARP: Please explain to us why Nova Scotians are sending their NDP government back to opposition status in the next election. They have only been government since 2009, but have proven to the taxpayers that their best place in government is to be in opposition.
    1. Garp posted on 09/16/2012 08:34 PM
@joes_2868 My understanding is that the NDP in Nova Scotia employed the same tactics as the Liberals in BC.

Hopefully the ruling will come down before the next provincial election, not after.

GARP: If you say that the Liberals have to go in the penalty box, who will be the replacement? NDP is not the answer. Please pick a political party for us. Adrian Dix is bringing in Brian Top to be campaign manager for the B.C. NDP. At one time, Brian was deputy chief of staff to NDP premier Roy Romanow of Saskatchewan. In early February of 1999, Brian made the front page headlines of all newspapers in Saskatchewan. He was accused of whitewashing a legal committee report on a major political NDP scandal involving the botched sale of a government owned Channel Lake Petroleum Ltd., the natural gas producer for crown corporation SaskPower. This whitewashing is the same as Adrian Dix back dating a letter-memo for casino related Glen Clark. MIke Farnworth was promoted to a key ministry as minister by Glen Clark at the same time that Glen Clark was involved with a friend about applying for a casino licence. Told Mike Farnworth, that if he screwed up, he would fire him. Farnworth went to Chief of Staff, Adrian Dix, to discuss over the situation and thought something sounded fishy. Was told by Dix, it pays to know people in the high places, and don't worry, just do as Clark says. Farnworth did give approval for the licence, later saying in court that he would have not given approval knowing the circumstances behind the North Burnaby Inn. Here we have a cabinet minister, now a opposition critic today, always blowing a gasket saying the B.C. Liberals never produce a business plan on their decisions. Farnworth, sure did not do any background checks on the North Burnaby Inn, but yet gives a licence. Don't preach if you don't practice it. I guess he listens to the pope. The pope talks about birth control but never practices it.

GARP: In the early stages of the fast cats, Australian fast ferry operator Holyman, then one of the biggest and most experienced fast ferry operators in the world, was in talks with B.C. Ferries and Glen Clark's NDP government. The Holyman Managing Director and its Global Development Manager met with the Minister for Transport and cautioned him against the B.C. Ferries Fast Cat plan. They suggested that a first time builder would find it impossible to construct the vessels on time, within budget, or within weight specification. They also suggested that the intended power would be insufficient to meet targeted speed, even if the vessels were built within weight. Finally, they suggested that the ongoing maintenance and operation of fast ferries required specialized expertise. The company offered its expertise to the government. Their warnings and the offer were ignored. B.C. Ferries management suggested that a fast cat ferry from Holyman could be leased to prove that these type of vessels are not appropriate for the B.C. coast. Glen Clark decided to forego testing and committed to the construction of fast cat ferries regardless. A risk analysis was not completed prior to the decision to proceed was made. The approved budget and timeline was established for the project without research and prior to the completion of design specifications or selection of contractor. The Fast Ferry business plan was not completed prior to project commencement due to the rushed nature of the project. Time and cost was poorly managed due to the inability to secure a fixed-cost contract with an experienced supplier. 26.5 million of taxpayer dollars just alone to pay interest costs for this project.

Pointing fingers at others to deflect your own guilt is a common practice by those truly guilty. How does this affect the integrity of the BC Liberals? There is public information which alleges Christy Clark, when in cabinet, leaked confidential to third parties. That is a breach of confidentiality. She appears unresponsive to those allegations.

Are your points the best defences the Liberals have to offer to the public?

GARP: It's true, just look up the information like I did and read it. How come Dave Stupich, now deceased , former NDP finance minister did not have to pay the money back that he took and only got two years house arrest? Just remember that the rules are different if it was you or me.

      @joes_2868 joes_2868 Re:
This is amazing back and forth! I like the fact that you are just like the liberals in so many ways.you people are always living so deep in the past , you sir are a little boy trying to prove to your mother it was the other guy's fault tried to tell us that the liberals still need a second chance seems to me they had all the chances they are like to be had! Enough already,we have had it up too our eye balls with the deception of untruths. we need a change to see the books and the crap we are not being told and yes, we need someone held to account. Enough already! This government is not leading,it is dead in the water with no mandate to continue, no fall sitting to answer questions! They just there to use taxpayers money for their election ads. So I am really sick and tired of all this BS! Enough already ! Open for a fall sitting to just dissolve this government and let the voter's call the shots for once! Enough already!

Ken280: Take it easy Ken! You are shooting from the hip. Leave that up to Adrian Dix and Jim SinClair. You are blowing a gasket and raising your blood pressure like Mike Farnworth does. My replies are not B.S. I do research before writing because I do not shoot from the hip. You said that this government has no mandate. What are you talking about? Is that because Chirsty Clark became premier without a provincial election. Alison Redford, Ed Stelmach, in Alberta carried on with government until the election, Greg Selinger in Manitoba carried on with government until the election, and Kathy Dunderdale in Newfoundland the same. Even, Ujjal waited until election time. Ken, are you sitting down. I have to tell you two important things. They are, THE RACE IN LIFE IS A LONG ONE, BUT IT IS ONLY WITH YOURSELF. YOUR CHANCES ARE ONLY AT HALF MAST, SO IS EVERYONE ELSE'S. Your comments of calling a fall sitting. Did you ever think that the NDP colleagues really approve of this. Bob Simpson, the MLA that Carole James got rid of, quotes "But MLA Bob Simpson thinks his former NDP colleagues are secretly pleased the people's house will be dark this autumn. I don't think they wanted to expose Adrian Dix to intense media scrums day after day. They know the wriggle room is getting smaller and eventually he's going to get pinned in a corner. I bet they're breathing a sigh of relief". Ken, if you do not approve of the Liberals, then you still have some time to create a political party. The NDP is not the answer. That is true B.S. From 1952 to 2013, B.C. taxpayers would have voted for coalition governments 48 of those years compared to 13 for the NDP. If the NDP were to win the election, but won't could not win re-election in 2017. I believe you are society, Ken, and I feel sorry for you. Nine elections completed in Canada already and not ONE result according the polls that you so truly believe in. You complain about me and Garp too much. Just take a look at the Federal parliament that started up on Monday. Stephen Harper and Thomas MulCair are doing the same. Now for you to stop shooting from the hip in the future, your reading and research assignment will be: Go to google, type in "Dix is master of mumbo-jumbo". This is from the Province's Mike Smyth comments of Sept 16, 2012. Go to google, type in "Read more-Canadian Taxpayers Federation" Dix could star in Twilight Zone episode. If Rod Serling was alive today, he would produce a Twilight Zone TV show episode called The Hidden Agenda. The main character in the show would be Adrian Dix. At the end of each show, like every Twilight Zone show, Rod Serling would say, "Here we have a man with a hidden agenda that wants to be premier riding high in the public opinion polls that could have only happened in the Twilight Zone." NOW KEN, ENOUGH ALREADY UNTIL YOU LEARN TO DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE BLOWING GASKETS.
