Rich Coleman has ended the speculation and announced he will seek re-election next May in Fort Langley-Aldergrove.

The Energy and Mines minister says his is strongly committed to Premier Christy Clark and the rest of the BC Liberal team as they seek a new mandate in 2013.

Coleman was first elected in 1996.

Some thought he might not run again in the wake of Finance Minister Kevin Falcon and Education Minister George Abbott announcing last week they were quitting politics.

The BC Liberals will need a new candidate in the riding of West Vancouver Sea to Sky.

MLA Joan McIntyre has announced she won't be seeking re-election.

She was first elected in 2005.

And Richmond Centre MLA Rob Howard also made it official this morning.

He won't be running again.

He says after 12 years in politics, he wants more family time.

He was first elected as a city councillor back in 2001.

@bctaxpayer Why do you need to belittle someone? It makes you an ignorant bully.

@bctaxpayer Name calling and personal attacks are petty and show the intelligence or lack there of the writer.

Did he get a heads up about no senate seat for him?

Maybe he heard that Gordy was planning on coming back to run for premier in 2013 and he wants to make sure he's in line for the AG job that he and Kash Heed the East Indian Stallion were both competing for. It could happen...

Off all the people not running this is the one guy that should not be running period along with Ida Chong and Yamamotto just to name a few, if the BC Conservatives do merge with the Liberals (BC) we cannot have Christy Clark as Premier she is a big mouth, not a manager, what BC needs is a General Manager not a talker.

I Hope he can adjust to being one of the few remaining Liberals as Opposition...and I hope he doesn't end up in that tiny little office the Liberals forced Joy Mcphail and Jenny to use.

Re NealS: Shooting off from the hip again. Listening to polling that are not accurate. 9 elections held in Canada in 2011 and 2012 and every poll proven wrong. Neal is living in the twilight zone. What happened to the NDP in 2001 will not happen to the Liberals in 2013. NDP strongholds will be won by the NDP and Liberal strongholds will be won by the Liberals. No one knows the final result , but whoever forms government will only have a 10 seat majority over the other. If you still don't agree go to google and type in "Dix don't count your chickens-city caucus".
