This week’s recommendation comes with a small twist. I was doing an extensive tasting of Australian wines with the BCLDB product consultants this week and I decided that they should pick the wine they thought best fit the bill for the CKNW Bottle of the Week.

The consensus was that the Yalumba Organic Shiraz 2011 delivered in spades and I couldn’t agree more.

This is a medium-bodied, raspberry scented little beauty that points clearly to the new direction of this well-known variety in Australia.

Balanced, pure fruited and lip smackingly good. A red wine with refreshment value.
