The Vancouver Canucks won't have defenceman Kevin Bieksa in the lineup for today's game (4pm pst) against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Head coach Alain Vigneault says the doctors have told him that Bieksa is going to need more time to recover from a groin injury that has already forced him to miss 6 of the last 7 games.
The coach also hinted that he may insert defenceman Cam Barker into the lineup for Keith Ballard, and could give him a try on the point on the power-play, that is zero for its last 23 attempts.
Centre Andrew Ebbett, who was recalled from the Chicago Wolves yesterday to replace Jordan Schroeder, will start tonight on the second line with Mason Raymond and Jannik Hansen.
Chris Higgins remains the centre on the third line, between David Booth and Zack Kassian.
Roberto Luongo gets the start in goal after sitting on the bench for eight of the last 12 games.
