Roberto Luongo turned aside twenty three shots and the Vancouver Canucks overcame another slow start to edge the Nashville Predators 1-0 in NHL action on Friday night.
Dale Weise chipped in the lone goal of the game mid way through the third period to give the Canucks the game winning goal while Luongo picked up the 62nd shutout of his NHL career.
Defender Kevin Bieksa left this game early in the second period with what the Canucks are describing as a groin issue. Bieksa will be re-evaluated in Detroit on Saturday to determine his availability for the Canucks on Sunday in the Motor City.
