The Columbus Blue Jackets have fired General Manaer Scott Howson after six years on the job.

The Jackets have been to the playoffs just once under Howson's tenure and have failed to win a playoff game. 

Columbus is 13th in the Western Conference this season and coupled with the poor trade made for superstar Rick Nash and the Jackets hiring John Davidson as tehir new President of Hockey Operations, Howson's days were numbered and his number came up this afternoon.
