Roberto Luongo turned aside 24 shots and Vancouver held on to a lead for the first time in a few games as the Canucks shutout the Colorado Avalanche 3-0 before another announced sell out crowd at Roger's Arena.
Luongo, starting back to back for the first time this season, was solid early for the Canucks as the home side came out flat and allowed Colorado to dictate the play.
However, Jason Garrison would score on a point shot after an Avalanche turnover on the Canucks first shot of the game and the Canucks were off and running against the now 2-4 Avs.
Max Lapierre would score an unassisted marker in the second period while Zack Kassian scored his team leading 5th of the season on the power play in the third to put the Avalanche away.
Coach Alain Vigneault refused as per usual to announce who would be his starting goalie against Chicago on Friday, adding even more intrigue to what is now a full blown goalie controversy.
Next up for Vancouver is the 6-0-1 Chicago Black Hawks on Friday night at home before they head out on their next road swing.
