In what has quickly become a sideshow for the Vancouver Canucks, Head Coach Alain Vigneault has named Roberto Luongo the starting goalie for tonight's matchup against the Colorado Avalanche.
Luongo has been on the trading block since last April when the Canucks announced that Cory Schneider was their goalie of the future.
So far this season:
Luongo, 33, has appeared in three games, with a 2.21 goals against average and a .917 save percentage.
Schneider, 26, has appeared in four games, has a 3.13 goals against average and a .897 save percentage.
Vigneault is quoted at this morning's game day skate as saying that Luongo is his #1 goalie today, so he gets the start.
Let the controversy continue...
