Canada has captured their first Spengler Cup Championship since 2007 with a convincing 7-2 drubbing of defending champions and host team HC Davos today in Switzerland.
Canada's team was comprised of NHLers based in Europe during the lockout as well as Canadians playing in the Swiss League this season.
Patrice Bergeron was named Finals MVP with a goal and three assists, while Ryan Smyth and John Tavares added two goals each for Canada. Devan Dubnyk of the Edmonton Oilers picked up the win between the pipes for Canada.
It was Canada's 12th Spengler Cup Championship.
