Vancouver Giants goaltender Liam Liston has chosen to retire from hockey to start his education.

Liston, 19, was brought in from Lethbridge during the off season to solidify Vancouver's goaltending.  However, a slow start by both Liston and the team and the emergence of 16 year old Payton Lee between the pipes for the Giants spelled a reduced role and surely contributed to Liston's decision to leave the team.

Liston has indicated that he will use his WHL education to pursue a Law degree at the university of Alberta.

Lee and 17 year old Tyler Fuhr will now become the Giants goaltending tandem.
