Darren Haydar scored halfway through the opening period and Matt Climie stopped everything thrown his way as the Vancouver Canucks AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, edged the Abbotsford Heat 1-0 in a matinee game in the Windy City.
Climie stopped all 25 shots fired his way by the Heat, while Heat netminder Barry Brust suffered his first regulation loss of the 2012 season, even though he turned aside 33 of 34 shots.
The Wolves have now won four straight games and have climbed into first place in their division, while the Heat remain tied for top spot in the Western Conference despite the loss.
