A Grey Cup tradition that was started more than 60 years ago was finally allowed to continue today after several failed attempts.
Just after 2 o'clock (eastern time) Marty the horse was allowed inside the Royal York Hotel in downtown Toronto ... a custom that stampeder fans started in 1948.
Earlier, Royal York staff refused the let the horse in citing safety concerns for staff and guests.
But the large crowd that gathered outside the hotel eventually convinced the management to change their mind.
Meantime, the CFL has just released a statement to say that the Calgary Stampeders' touchdown horse, Quick Six, will be allowed inside Rogers Centre for Sunday's game. But while he will be allowed to stand in the Northeast corner of the Stadium ... he won't be able to gallop up and down the sideline due to a lack of available space.
