Oklahoma City 2 Abbotsford 1 (OT)

With NHL hockey on hold right now, the closest thing that anyone can watch that closely resembles the NHL game is out in Abbotsford with the Heat. Over the past two nights, the Heat haev been entertaining the Edmonton Oilers top prospects, the Oklahoma City Barons at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.

The Barons feature many of the Oilers young superstars, including Ryan Nugent Hopkins, Talor Hall, Jordan Eberle and the newest young gun, defenseman Justin Schultz, who was leading the Barons in scoring. It is the battle of Alberta in the Fraser Valley, and some Oiler fans were so desperate for Oiler hockey that they chartered a bus from Edmonton to come and see their stars. Well after a 4-0 loss to the Heat on Friday night, the Baby Oilers were looking for payback...and they delivered a thriller in Abbotsford, winning 2-1 in overtime on a goal by one of the up and coming Oiler superstars. Justin Schultz gets the goal and the much sought after free agent signing by Edmonton gets the winner.

Oklahoma City earns the split.

Abbotsford will face Lake Erie at home this week.
