The team nominees for the 2012 CFL Player Awards are out.  The players were selected by members of the Football Reporters of Caanda and the eight CFL head coaches.

Quarterback Travis Lulay earns his second nomination as the club’s Most Outstanding Player after taking league-wide honours last season. 

Running back Andrew Harris was a unanimous selection as the Most Outstanding Canadian after establishing a new record for Canadian running backs in yards from scrimmage, 1,055 on 178 carries.

Second-year Lion Adam Bighill earned the club’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player title after recording a team-leading 96 tackles and nine sacks.

For a third consecutive season, right tackle Jovan Olafioye is the club’s Most Outstanding Lineman.

Tim Brown follows-up last year’s team nomination as the Outstanding Rookie with a 2012 selection as the club’s Most Outstanding Special Teams Player. 

Jabar Westerman, the Lions’ first-round CFL Draft selection in 2012 is the team’s unanimous choice as Most Outstanding Rookie.

The East and West nominees for the 2012 CFL Player Awards will be announced on Wednesday, November 7th.

The league-wide winners will be announced during Grey Cup week on Thursday, November 22nd.
