The Abbotsford Heat did something that no team had yet to do this year…beat the Chicago Wolves.
Abbotsford scored four unanswered markers to tame the Vancouver Canucks affiliate 4-1 before a sellout crowd of 7046 at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.
Canucks prospect Matt Kassian had another nice night for the visitors; opening the scoring for the Wolves in the first and engaging in a first period scrap as well, a near carbon copy of his game on Friday night.
However, the Heat was the better team after the opening twenty minutes, peppering Eddie Lack of the Wolves with 33 of their 41 shots over the final two periods.
Carter Bancks, Dustin Sylvester, Sven Baertschi and Roman Horak answered the goal call tonight for Abbotsford, who move to 3-0-0-1 on the year. Chicago with the loss slips to 4-1.
The Heat now head out for their first road trip of the season, with a three game stint that begins next Friday in Cleveland versus the Lake Erie Monsters.
