Sinclair Won't Apologize
Vancouver (CKNW/AM980)

10/16/2012

Burnaby's Christine Sinclair is making no apologies for her behaviour at the London Olympics.

Sinclair spoke to reporters Monday for the first time since FIFA, Soccer's governing body, issued Canada's captain a four game ban.

"I have been asked this a few times, said Sinclair, and I don't regret what I said.  We had just lost a chance at playing for an Olympic gold medal and that's a dream all of us have, and it was a very intense time and I was very emotional and I wouldn't want to change that"

Sinclair made post-game comments to officials after Canada lost a heartbreaking Olympic semifinal to the United States.

She'll serve her suspension early in 2013 and says she doesn't regret sounding off to the officials.

She said it truthfully the first time, so why would or should she change? She is a leader and a little bit of a hero. Sometimes the raw truth needs a little extra courage to defend, in view of media political correctness.
