With nearly three weeks between games, the Vancouver Whitecaps are a team in limbo. That hasn’t stopped players from keeping themselves mentally sharp between matches…like midfielder Barry Robson.
‘We need to train hard to stay mentally sharp for the next game’, says Robson. ‘But also enjoy the mental break as well so that next match we are good to go.’
Head Coach Martin Rennie knows that he has to change things up at training to keep the team in tune. ‘It’s a good time for us because we can work hard on different things that you cannot when there is a game at the end of the week,’ comments Rennie. ‘We change up what we are doing so that we can be more fit and stronger as we get ready for our next match.’
The Caps are still over a week away from their Cascadia Cup Derby Match versus Portland at BC Place. The team will train Friday before taking three days off, with training resuming Tuesday.
