While the Vancouver Whitecaps make their push for a post season berth with a game this weekend against their rivals from Seattle, many Whitecaps fans and players see the recent play of Kenny Miller as a sign that their scoring fortunes may be turning around.

Miller notched an important goal in the Caps 2-2 draw with Colorado over this past weekend, and with a goal in a recent international game for Scotland, Miller has had goals in two of his past three contest, something that hasn’t been lost on Caps Head Coach Martin Rennie.

‘’Kenny and Darren (Mattocks) linked up well, and Kenny allowed us more looks and more chances,’ comments Rennie. ‘It now remains to be seen if Kenny and the others can sustain that pressure. We fell back on our heels after his goal and we need to continue with that type of pressure to remain successful.’

Miller likes where his game is going, but is quick to point out the whole team needs to keep pushing. ‘We took a step back after our goals and tentative teams do that when they are struggling,’ says Miller. ‘We need to maintain our focus and finish what we started.’

The Caps face the Sounders Saturday evening at BC Place, with the first touch at 6 PM.
