With just four games left in their second MLS campaign, the Vancouver Whitecaps are on the verge of a playoff berth. The only problem for the squad is the killer instinct that many teams have has eluded this bunch so far this season.
Speaking with the media today, Goalkeeper Brad Knighton indicated that the Whitecaps have allowed 10 goals this season in the final ten minutes of their matches. ‘We have to believe that we can close games out and step forward to get it done.’
Captain Jay Demerit agrees: ‘We need to put our best foot forward and not back off. Our mistake over the past few matches has been to lay back once we feel secure. We need to keep doing what gave us our success.’
The Caps will take Wednesday off before resuming training Thursday in preparation for their game versus Seattle at BC Place on Saturday.
