    Multiple sources are reporting that the Vancouver Canucks hav fired Head Coach Alain Vigneault along with assistant coaches Rick Bowness an Newell Brown. The Canucks have yet to release a formal release on this news.  Vigneault leaves Vancouver as the most successful coach in Canucks history: A regular season coaching record of 313-170-57.   • Arceneaux returns to Lions den
    The B.C.   • Miller Leaving Whitecaps For Home?
    A report in a Scottish newspaper (Scottish Sun) claims Vancouver Whitecaps FC striker Kenny Miller could be heading back home -- for good! The 33-year-old is reported to be close to signing a contract with the Glasgow Rangers. A nagging hamstring injury has limited Miller's MLS minutes so far this season. He hasn't played since a March 30 game against Chivas USA.

    Second-half substitute Jose Valencia scored in the 83rd minute to give the Portland Timbers a 2-all draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps. Will Johnson also scored for Portland and assisted on the equalizer to help the Timbers (4-1-7) extend their unbeaten strike to 10 games.   • Edler To Miss Remainder of Tournament
    The IIHF Independent Disciplinary Panel has suspended Swedish defenceman Alexander Edler of the Vancouver Canucks for a knee-on-knee hit against Canadian forward Eric Staal. Edler will miss the remainder of the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. The incident occurred at 15:52 in the first period. Edler collided with Staal at centre ice, a hit which had Staal immediately fall down to the ice, favoring his leg and visibly in pain.
