The incoming president of the BC Teachers' Federation says the provincial government's refusal to continue funding playground equipment for schools is proof Victoria's priorities are misplaced.

Susan Lambert says the government has decided to put a retractable roof on BC Place, so it's not a matter of funding, it's a matter of political will.

She says teachers are also worried about class size and composition issues, something she blames on what she considers to be ten years of underfunding.

The Burnaby native takes over as BCTF president on June 30th.
