Vancouver Council passes emergency motion on Haiti

Vancouver City Council has passed an emergency motion to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.

Part of the motion calls on the City to actively promote fundraising for quake victims at the Olympics next month.

Mayor Gregor Robertson also echoed City Manager Penny Ballem's disappointment at Ottawa's decision not to deploy Vancouver's Urban Search and Rescue Team.
