It's a customer service problem gone horribly wrong...
A North Vancouver man who accidentally overpaid his phone bill by more than $700 in September says he ended up being arrested by the RCMP while trying to get his money back.
Kerry Morris says he was assured three times over the phone he would receive a refund in the mail.
But after six weeks went by with no sign of a cheque, he got fed up and drove to Telus headquarters in Burnaby.
He maintains he was polite while he was there, but refused to leave until he got his money.
Then, all of a sudden, the RCMP showed up and arrested Morris for uttering threats.
Although he received a cheque the following day, Morris says the damage has been done, "If you were arrested, fingerprinted, photocopied, have someone stuff their hand down their pants and grab your johnson, would you forgive them?"
Telus Spokesperson Shawn Hall says -- with eight thousand customer care agents -- unfortunate mistakes are bound to happen," There's no question that as much as we strive for perfection, it's not something we're ever going to be able to make. There's always going to be individual errors that happen."
Hall says the agents who handled Morris' original phone calls have received some coaching.
Morris plans to fight any charges that could be laid.
