Workers get jobs back
METRO VANCOUVER/CKNW AM 980

11/23/2009

The 200 staff laid off Friday at three seniors care homes in Coquitlam, Victoria, and Nanaimo have their jobs back.

A sub-contractor issued the pink slips on Friday but today the main contractor, "Retirement Concepts", announced a deal with the Hospital Employees Union.

That means the nurses, care aids, and recreation staff at the Dufferin Care Centre in Coquitlam, the Beacon Hill Villa in Victoria, and the Nanaimo Seniors Village will get the same wages and benefits.
