Man killed on Lougheed Highway

Ridge Meadows RCMP are still investigating after a man was struck and killed by a taxi early Sunday morning in Maple Ridge.

Corporal Rachel Meredith says it happened just before 1:00 am on Lougheed near 216th, "There was a pedestrian crossing the street in a dimly lit stretch of the highway. It was not a marked crosswalk."

No word if the cabbie will face charges.

The victim's name and age hasn't been released.
