Translink mayors vote for "130" plan

Translink mayors have voted to adopt a 130 million dollar transportation plan.

And that 130 million dollar a year plan includes no new service hours for transit.

That means services being bulked up for the Olympics will vanish once the games have come and gone.

Seven new Westcoast Express cars, which were already on order, will be put to use.

The tolled Pattullo Bridge will be built, but not the long-promised Evergreen Line.

That is a major disappointment for Port Moody Mayor Joe Trasolini.
 
Mayors say they’re caught between a lack of proper funding and years of neglect when it comes to improving transportation.

Burnaby Mayor Derek Corrigan voted against the plan, hoping massive cuts would force the province to act:
