BC Conservative leader resigns
Vancouver/CKNW(AM980)

7/1/2009

The leader of BC's Conservative Party and several members of the party's board of directors have resigned.

Wilf Hanni has led the Conservatives since 2005 but says the infighting amongst board members has proven just too difficult to overcome.
The party, which hasn't elected a member to the legislature in decades, ran 24 candidates in May's provincial election and picked up two per cent of the popular vote.
Hanni had predicted his Conservatives would emerge victorious in 2013. (The Canadian Press)
