One of the last people to see a Polish immigrant alive broke down at a public inquiry.

Immigration Agent Tina Zadravec has told the Braidwood inquiry into the death of Robert Dziekanski that she tried to look for the Polish immigrant when asked by his mother's friend. She says she didn't page him or call to see if customs had scanned his passport.

She even saw him before he died, but made no effort to contact his mother. Zadravec says she wouldn't do anything differently in hindsight.

"I think about it alot but I can't, I wouldn't do anything differently. If I knew he was going to die, I would do everything differently, but in doing my job, I did my job."

At the time, she said Dziekanski had likely never boarded his plane and advised his mother and friend to go home.

Dziekanski died in the arrivals area after receiving five jolts from RCMP tasers.
