Feds willing to fight over "Insite"
VANCOUVER/CKNW AM 980

2/9/2010

It appears the federal government is following the old adage "......if at first you don't succeed, try, try again" when it comes to Vancouver's safe injection site.

Mark Townsend with the Portland Hotel Society, one of the partners that runs "Insite", says they've been served with papers that suggests the government is going to ask the Supreme Court of Canada to overturn the latest BC Court ruling.

The BC Court of Appeal ruled January 15th that insite is a provincial, not federal, jurisdiction, effectively allowing the site to operate indefinitely.
