Stay away from fake drugs
Vancouver/CKNW(AM980)

11/19/2009

The RCMP is warning the public about online ads offering everything from swine flu vaccine to Viagra.

At a show and tell inside the Canada Post mail sorting facility RCMP Sgt. Duncan Pound said not only is it illegal to import prescription drugs, but potentially harmful to your health.

Pound says, "The best case scenario with counterfeit drugs and pharmaceuticals is that what you take is harmless. The worst case scenario is that it could be life-threatening."

He says most of the pharmaceuticals intercepted at the facility originate from China and are being imported by organized crime groups.
