Surrey RCMP have busted a large doda operation.

Doda is a powdered drug made from the opium poppy pod and is popular in the South Asian community.

Police say they seized hundreds of pounds of pods along with crushing and grinding equipment in a busy shopping centre.
Four people were arrested and later released.

Sergeant Roger Morrow says doda is usually mixed with tea.

Morrow says doda is said to cause quick feelings of pleasure but can be followed by mood swings, drowsiness and trouble concentrating.
