Wire-Tap Evidence from Stobbe Trial
CJOB has obtained the following audio exhibit played before the jury at the second degree murder trial of Mark Stobbe. The following is the full phone conversation between Betty Rowbotham and Mark Stobbe after Betty Rowbotham was told by police they believed her sister Beverly Rowbotham was killed in her own backyard in October of 2000. Stobbe was Beverly Rowbotham's husband and is on trial for her murder. The Crown has alleged in court he killed her with a hatchet before driving her body to Selkirk and biking home. Bloodvein First Nation Getting Access Road
Chief Roland Hamilton of the Bloodvein First Nation couldn't be more pleased.   Funding has fallen into place, to proceed with the construction of an access road to connect the First Nation to Manitoba's all-season road network.  The project itself will create 30 new jobs.   There's also expected to be additional business opportunities along the all-season road corridor.  Hamilton says it's been a long wait.  However he says once completed,  the road will benefit anyone wanting to come in and out of the community with reduced costs and waiting times.   The Bloodvein First Nation is investing 390-thousand dollars into the project.  The remainder of the cost is being picked up by the Federal government and Manitoba's East Side Road Authority.

Heavy Fog conditions prevail
Perhaps the thickest fog we've seen in the last three days is continuing to hover over the southern half of the province this morning, obscuring traffic on the province's highways...  The provincial highways department warns that some bridges are frost-covered and icy. The fog is expected to lift by late this morning, or perhaps early this afternoon. We can expect fog again on Saturday, but it won't be quite as bad, as stronger winds should stir things up a bit.
