The number of completed yout court cases decreased in every province - except Manitoba - in 2010-2011.
A Statistics Canada study says youth cases were up three per cent in Manitoba while cases decreased seven per cent Canada-wide.
Sentences of time in custody were least often imposed by courts in our province - only seven per cent of the time - compared to 21 per cent of the time in Ontario.
Nearly three-quarters of cases completed in youth courts involved non-violent offenses Canada-wide. A guilty verdict was found 57 per cent of the time.
