A big crowd gathered just outside of Selkirk last night to watch provincial water-bombers battle a huge grassfire near an auto scrap yard.
The fire was contained around 9 o'clock...Fire officials are unsure of the cause.
There have been 51 such fires reported across the province this spring as dry condtions continue to plauge the prairies.
A 78 year old man died Thursday while trying to contain a grass fire near Portage La Prairie.
