The provincial government has gained a small victory in their quest to bring labour peace to schools this fall.
Toronto’s Catholic school board became the first to agree to a two-year deal with teachers as negotiations fail with other unions.
TCDSB trustees agreed to the provincial deal in a private meeting Tuesday night which all but guarantees no labour strife in its schools for the next two years.
Toronto Catholic teachers will no longer be able to bank unused sick days to cash out at retirement, and instead of 20 sick days a year, they’ll have 10 that can’t be carried over.
