On the heels of a week of gun violence across Toronto, a group meeting at Queen's Park will take place.
Among the attendees, Mayor Ford, Premier Dalton McGuinty, and Police Chief Bill Blair.
The mayor is set to request more money, to add additional TAVIS officers to priority neighbourhoods.
Speaking on the Oakley show this morning, Ford said he will be requesting a minimum $5 million from the province to beef up the police force.
McGuinty says while police are essential to helping curb the violence, he adds a ban on handguns, and more youth programs are also needed across the city.
Ford has already been quoted as saying "hug a thug" programs are not working.
Rhe meeting is set for 2:00 Monday afternoon.
