Being asked "Paper or Plastic?" will soon be a thing of the past.
In an unforseen move, city council has voted to entirely do away with plastic shopping bags in the city.
The move takes effect January 1st, 2013.
In the meantime, the 5 cent plastic bag fee will be scrapped. That will take effect July 1st, 2012.
