Couple Pleads Guilty in Death of 7 Year Old
Toronto/AM640 News

A parkdale couple has pleaded guilty to charges of second degree murder, in the death of a seven year old girl.

Katelynn Sampson died in 2008 with 70 injuries found on her body, with police alleging her two court entrusted guardians beat her for months before she finally died from septic shock.

Sampson was discovered in the couple’s apartment on Aug. 3, 2008, four months after child care workers visited the home and three months after Sampson last went to school.

33 year old Donna Irving and 50 year old Warren Johnson are now facing a life-sentence, with no chance of parole for 15 years.

During today's court hearing, it was said that a family court judge had granted custody of the child to Irving, despite her criminal convictions for prostitution, drugs and violence.
