St. Joe's has received another gift towards its "Timeless Care, Tomorrow's Discoveries" campaign.
The 300 thousand dollar donation from Scotiabank, on behalf of hundreds of local employees, is the latest to support the ongoing construction of a new mental health and addictions hospital on Hamilton's mountain brow.
Scotiabank Vice President Shawn Goddard says it's an important cause for the company due to the impact of mental illness on the workforce.
In recognition of the gift, Scotiabank's name will be attached to the "Bridge to Recovery Program". It's a time-limited, intensive program for clients living with depression, bipolar or borderline personality disorder and anxiety.
The new hospital will open in 2014 at Fennell and West 5th.
