Local teachers are planning to rally today against the provincial government over legislation that imposes a new contract on them.
The legislation also prevents teachers and education workers from going on strike.
Chantal Mancini, president of a local OSSTF bargaining unit, says they will rally outside Liberal MPP Ted McMeekin's office after school today.
Mancini says some local teachers have withdrawn from extracurricular activities because they're angry with the government.
The Liberals argue the legislation, which passed with the support of the Progressive Conservatives, is needed to help them eliminate the province's 15-billion dollar deficit.
