Pictorvision shines at the Olympics
Hamilton Spectator

Aside from the area athletes competing at the Olympics, there is another Hamilton connection to the games.

Pictorvision, a division of PV labs at McMaster Innovation Park, played a key role in the opening ceremonies.

It provided the stabilized aerial camera and crew that filmed the helicopter flying through Tower Bridge.

That was part of the segment that had the Queen and James Bond jumping out of a helicopter into Olympic Park.

Pictorvision’s Eclipse camera system is also being used at the 2012 Olympics to broadcast rowing events.

Eclipse was used to film The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-man.

The system won a Science and Technology Academy Award earlier this year.
