There is still no official word on the cause of Monday's multi million dollar house fire on the Stoney Creek waterfront, but initial reports are that it was not caused by the ongoing construction.
Hamilton Fire Department spokesperson Dave Christopher says the work being done at the time was tiling.
The owners had put about a million and a half dollars into the construction including high end items like a partial copper roof and tiling from Italy.
The structure on Watercrest Drive is considered a write off and the Ontario Fire Marshall is expecting to have a cause for the blaze by the end of the week.
