A 38 year old Jerseyville man has died after falling into a well.
The man -- described as a resident of a special care home -- was found unresponsive inside the well around 7:30 last night.
He died overnight in hospital.
Police say they don't know how the man ended up inside the well, located on the property of the special needs home
in the area of Jerseyville Road West and Lynden Road.
Police are investigating but at this point believe it incident was accidental.
A post mortem is being done today.
