Niagara Police have identified two people found inside a submerged SUV in the Niagara River over the weekend.
The bodies of 31 year old Carlos Mejia and 38 year old Joseph Holika, both from Fort Erie, were discovered Sunday after an extensive underwater search by the Niagara Police Marine Unit.
It began Saturday morning after a pedestrian noticed a severley damaged boat ramp on the Niagara River Parkway. Police were called and after an examination of the scene they determined that a vehicle had possibly entered the water after failing to stop for a stop sign at a nearby intersection.
