Whyte Avenue was busier than normal Saturday night as EPS dealt with a suspicious package.
The incident took place near 109st and 82 Avenue and caused EPS to block off the area from 7 till 11 last night.
Samantha Peschel works in the area and describes what took place, "Lots of police cars, vans and bomb squads right behind my work. Guess it was a homeless guy that dropped off a suspicious package."
"The Constable that was on site today, he confirmed it was a pipe bomb of sorts. And yeah, I was putting one of my residents to bed and I heard an explosion. And it was later confirmed, that yes it was a bomb."
At this time police have yet to officially comment on the matter. (dm/tk)
