Predicting what pro sports will look like in Canada in twenty years is much like guessing will it rain on August 23rd, 2032?
The Conference Board of Canada is again crystal ball gazing and it sees some wonderful things for Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. It says decades from now Toronto will be able to support a second NHL franchise...Hamilton will be big enough to have one too..and maybe Quebec City will ice a team. Saskatoon, although growing, isn't deemed worthy of the NHL.
The Conference Board report says the future of pro sports in Canada in bright...and that could mean Major League Soccer in Edmonton and Calgary, Major League Baseball again in Montreal, the NBA might return to Vancouver, Toronto might see an NFL team and seven new CFL teams could take to the field and it might rain on August 23rd, 2032.
