A man is recovering in hospital after police interrupted him in the middle of a burglary in southeast Edmonton early Friday.
The man was helping himself inside a business near 23rd Avenue and 24th Street when the police showed up in response to an intrusion alarm. With no way out, the man was arrested and taken back to the lockup at southeast Division.
Maybe it was the flashing lights on the police cars or the excitement overload of getting caught...but the 29-year old man went into a siezure in the cell block. Police say they had no physical contact with the man who had a pre-existing medical condition. He was rushed to hospital and is expected to be fine...except for the burglary charges.
