It began after the passing of a beloved actor and has turned into an annual event to raise money for two worthwhile causes.
For a third consecutive year the James Tolin Memorial Fund West will be taking place at the Catalyst Theatre, with every dollar going to support HIV Edmonton and Camp firefly.
This year's show entitled "Artists for Life" is a celebration of women in the arts in Edmonton.
While Tolin had no ties with the city of Edmonton, for JTMF West artistic director Joyce LaBriola, this just shows how supportive and engaging Edmonton is.
She says she's overwhelmed at the amount of good that's come from this event.
"It touches my heart to know that we're able to affect some good and to support two amazing charities all in James' name, it's stunning to me."
JTMF West's show gets underway at 7:00pm featuring several local acts.
The evening closes with a concert featuring several local Diva Groups at 9:00pm.
Tickets are $20 for just the concert, $50 for the entire evening, or for those big spenders there are $100 VIP tickets, which include the chance to win a special getaway prize in addition to a full night of entertainment.
Last year's event raised over $12,000.
LaBriola is hoping to raise at least $15,000 for this year's festivities. (js, gb)
