Premier Alison Redford, is announcing that Mika Allen, MLA for Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo, will advise the Minister of Transportation on specific recommendations to accelerate the twinning of Highway 63.
Allen, as a Special Advisor to the Minister of Transportation Ric McIver, will give focused attention to a range of solutions.
Allen will provide advice to Minister McIver so the Minister can report to the Premier on recommended actions by June 29. Those actions will include a timeline for completing the twinning of Highway 63.
This is the latest in a series of short and long-term measures to improve safety on Highway 63. (bu)
